Lucernička · effective from 7 September 2026 · closed testing version
The Lucernička application is operated by a natural person. Contact for anything about the service: lucernicka@t8r.ai.
Lucernička is an application that uses artificial intelligence to create bedtime stories made for a child and to read them aloud. It is available as an Android app and as a web application in the browser.
The service is in closed pilot operation: registration is invite-only, use is free and ad-free. The pilot exists to find out whether the app is of use to families.
Both text and voice are machine-generated. That means the result may differ from expectations and may occasionally contain an inaccuracy or an unsuitable turn of phrase. We recommend that a parent look the story over before reading it aloud — with audio, listening together with the child is enough.
The stories are support, not treatment. They don't replace a paediatrician, a child psychologist or other professional care. If your child has difficulties that go beyond an ordinary evening, please turn to a professional.
Sensitive topics (fear of the dark, a doctor's visit, starting preschool) have prepared safety boundaries reviewed by a child psychologist. In some situations the app deliberately will not create a story and recommends professional help instead.
In case of a breach we may restrict or close the account. During the pilot we will always get in touch first — an account closed without explanation helps nobody.
You may use the story created for your child freely within your family: read it, listen to it, save it, print it. You don't acquire exclusive rights to it — a similar story may be created for someone else.
The curated story library, the illustrations, texts and the design of the app are the work of the operator and their collaborators; distributing them outside the app requires consent.
During the pilot everything is free, including features labelled Premium — you switch those on and off yourself in the app. That's how we find out what people actually want.
Once paid plans launch, payments will run exclusively through the app stores (App Store, Google Play) and their rules; we will announce prices and terms in advance and nothing will be charged without your consent.
The pilot runs on the operator's own server, not in a data centre. Expect outages, restarts and features changing between versions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or data retention, although we do what we can — and we keep backups.
You can close your account at any time by writing to the contact e-mail; deletion is irreversible and removes the stories and recordings too. The operator may end the pilot or change the service; we will announce the end by e-mail far enough in advance for families to save their stories.
The service is provided in pilot operation without warranty to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit or data loss. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited under Czech law — nor liability for harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
We may amend these terms. We will announce a substantial change by e-mail; by continuing to use the service after the change takes effect you accept it. If you disagree, you can close your account.
The relationship is governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Consumer disputes may be resolved out of court by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (adr.coi.cz).
