Lucernička

A story made for your child, with them as the hero. Narrated for the moment in the evening when your voice is gone.

How it sounds

Half a minute from a real story Lucernička wrote and narrated — about a girl afraid of the shadow by her chair.

In the end she couldn't bear it and called out quietly: “Mummy?”

Mummy came in and didn't say “Oh Agátka, there's nothing there.” Instead she sat on the edge of the bed and switched on the little lamp on the nightstand. “I can see something frightened you,” she said calmly. “Will you show me what it is?”

Excerpt from Agátka and the Three Lanterns

That's the difference we care about: the story neither dismisses the fear nor magnifies it — it shows the child what to do with it. Sensitive topics are reviewed by a child psychologist.

How to get it

Lucernička is in pilot testing. On Android as an app, on iPhone and computer in the browser.

⬇️ Download for Android

A single file, about 100 MB. Android 7 and newer.

Android will ask for permission. Because the app isn't on Google Play yet, your phone will ask whether it may install apps from this source. Tap Settings, turn on “Allow from this source” and go back — the install will proceed.
🌐 Open in the browser

For iPhone and computer. On iPhone add it to the home screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) and it behaves like an app. The browser version doesn't yet do sleep mode with the screen off or offline downloads — only the Android app does that.

Registration is invite-only for now. Want to try it? Write to lucernicka@t8r.ai and we'll send you a code. Testing is free and ad-free.

What you should know

The stories are written by artificial intelligence. We're not hiding it. You tell it what the story should be about — a few words in your own words — and those words go to the model, so don't put anything personal in them. Sensitive situations — fear of the dark, a doctor's visit, starting school — follow a script reviewed by a child psychologist.

Data. An e-mail for signing in, your child's first name and age for personalisation — a nickname is fine. Nothing else, no tracking, nothing passed to anyone, and we delete it on request.

This is the first real test outside our own family, so something will break. That's the point — there's a Feedback button in the app.

Where this is heading

After the pilot we want to publish the app to the stores, open registration without an invite, and add a printed keepsake book made from favourite stories. No dates promised — first we want to know it works for the families testing it now.
